Publishers of Children’s Books (Fiction and Nonfiction)

The following is a list of children’s publishers to make it easier for you do your research.  This list doesn’t contain every publisher that exists but will get you started.  Some publishers may accept unsolicited submissions.  Most (especially the larger publishing houses) will require you have an agent.  But the point is to do your homework and become familiar with what’s out there.

With the exception of Scholastic, many of these publishers also publish adult books.  In most cases, the links provided go directly to the children’s section or imprint of that publisher.  You can explore both fiction and nonfiction at here and there are also links to school and library publishers for the author who would like to write nonfiction for that market.

I will update this list whenever I can and if you are interested in receiving updates to this page or the website in general, sign up for the RSS feed.  Otherwise check back often.

Good luck to you!
